Dear Rita and Jody,
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Dave's sudden passing. Our prayers for peace and healing are with you at this heartbreaking time.
Dave was a wonderful friend and neighbour. Whether it was for a small household project, a beautifully made gift for a neighbourhood Christmas party, or a life and death (literally) situation, Dave was always ready to lend a hand.
He and Alan held very different views on politics and religion. In a recent conversation, Alan expressed concern that these opposing views might damage their relationship. Dave’s response was that it would take a lot more than that to destroy their friendship. Considering how divisive these topics have been in recent years, that response spoke highly of Dave's character and priorities, and it meant a great deal to both of us.
We will miss him. We will miss his big heart, his dry sense of humour, and his mischievous grin. We grieve with you and for you. If there’s anything we can do for you, please let us know.
